Industry Application
Example 7
Our
technology helps restore the health and safety of the aquaculture
industry of East Asia by improving the pond water and the feed (Japan,
Taiwan, and Malaysia):
1) By using our IT-TEC
equipment and ITC technology to treat the pond water of shrimp culture
farms, we succeeded in preventing deadly virus attacks, and even when
it happens, proved to be an effective cure in addition to the prompting
of the growth of the shrimp.
2) By treating the feed for
fish culture with our ITA, we succeeded in preventing the infection of
viruses and other bacteria, and proved our capability toeffectively
combat them if and when actual infection takes place.
3) In the case of seaweed
culture, the newly growing young leaves are harvested spending 3 to 4
days for one harvesting trip. But, within this time period, the
oxdization of the cut ends makes the products less desirous in the
market. By treating the holding tank water with our ITC balls, the
growers are successfully maintaining a uniform high-quality of thier
products.
TLSL Comments:
(1) The pitfall for these
firms in the aquaculture idnustry lies in the unavoidable negative
impact of accidents including diseases which result in the unexpected
death tolls adding a fatal cost burden on the remaining fish
population. Wherever intensive culture is in practice, diseases are
almost inevitable.
(2) While it is well known
that the virus that often attacks shirmp is quite deadly, those ferms
which adopted the IT-TEC technology are enjoying better than average
fatality ratios.
(3) Same thing can be said
about the culture of other fish, where expensive chemical treatments
are the MUST. But, we have helped them manage to cut down the cost of
expensive medicaol treatment, and improve the growth rate, the feed
efficiency and the product quality. For example, we have achieved a
remarkable results in yellowtail culture by lifting the survival ratio
up to an impressive 97% as compared to the industry average of 50-70%
during the 3-year period between the fry stage and the time they grow
into 10 kg fish.
(4) The technology can be
equally effective in all other fields of aquaculture.
OIARI Comments:
We have studied the situation
of the eel culture indutry scattered across the coastal provinces of
southern China, actually visiting those in the Zhejiang province. It
will be most appropriate to talk to the exporters instead of individual
culture pond operators. What is needed today is a new regional
marketing strategy.
