Application Example 6
Treatment
of the drinking water and feed in animal husbandary (various parts of
Japan):
1) When
ITA-treated water is
sprayed inside the silo over condensed feed mixed with cut dry grass,
cows showed a dramatic increase of milk production while at the same
time it reduced the cases of illness related to mastitis. Other added
benefits were the reduction of faul odors and prompt use of excrement
for manure.
2) As a
result of processing
the drinking water with ITC for pigs, we witnessed a noticeable
increase of reproductive abiliy, faster growth to marketable size,
leaner, and tastier and better colored meat with reduced fat. Less faul
smell and quicker manuare production were also accompanied by fewer
flies.
3) In
the case of chickens,
egg bearing rate was improved and the productive period extended much
longer. Similarily, faul ordrs were lessened and a much simpler dry
manure production became possible.
Common
among all three cases
above is the animals' changed reaction to approaching humans and other
noises. They are no longer surprised or annoyed by these outside
stimuli, perhaps contributing to the above-mentioned improvements.

Comments:
(1) In
the case of milk cows,
the milk production rose more than 20%, while the pigs yielded a
considerably higher meat ratio by weight, also resulting in higher
quality hams commanding more than 10% higher wholesale price than in
the past. Chickens extended their high egg bearing period from the past
120 days to 180 days, a 50% increase.
(2) The
profitability of the
farm operators was improved by the higher feed efficiency, lower
mortality rate, and better manure marketing opportunity.

Comments:
In
China, red pig meat is
being preferred by urban consuers, and as a result, chemicals are often
used to
reduce
fat and colorize meat
for better prices in the market, from time to time producing serious
health hazards. The ITC water and feed treatment will completely
eliminate the need for such chemicals.
