Industry Application Example 13
Treatment of the
swimming pools and golf-course ponds (various parts of Japan):
1) While it is a legal
requirement to keep the swimming pools disinfected with chlorine, it is
a known fact that there are some individuals who leave their excrements
in the pool. For this reason, chlorination is rigidly enforced,
creating a problem of ill-affecting human bodies, especially eyes and
hair.
By using our ITC to treat the
water, we have achieved a remarkable result of effectively keeping
colon bacilli and other live germs under control while also preventing
damages to human body. In addition, it protects our skin from sun burn
pains and promises an early recovery. It became also possible to use
the same water for a longer period.
2) The ponds in the golf
courses are most typically contaminated by the chemicals used in the
surrounding farms in addition to whatever chemicals used by
themselves to keep the lawn nice and green.
While Aoko algae can thrive
under such condition, diving beetles and others like them can not
survive, nor can carps and gold fish be expected to have normal growth.
It also presents the problem of a strange smell unpleasant to the
visitors.
We installed a unique ITC
water circulation system, which suppressed the algae growth while
keeping the pond water clean without any odors. And, as a result, fish
multiplied and wild birds returned while it became no longer necessary
to use heavy chemical spray on the lawn. In fact, it prompted the
return of fireflies.
TLSL Comments:
(1) In addition to the
obvious cost savings, the return of fireflies became a popular topic
among the visitors and the local communities.
(2) It also helped the
natural growth of trees, bushes and flowers of the golf courses, and
even helped prevent the infestation of pine weevils.
(3) This technology can also
be used for the management of pastures.
OIARI Comments:
Other areas of application
are obvious. The function of keeping relatively small water bodies
clean can repeat itself anywhere else for material benefit.
